SUMMARY
Prepare detailed assembly and installation drawings for aircraft articles, modifications and completions by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Obtain dimensional data and standards from vendors, government specifications, and other reference material.
Prepare layout of overall system configurations to be used as the foundation for all subsequent design.
Prepare new designs for new products.
Make final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
Understand and able to sketch orthographic and isometric projections of parts as required.
Utilize knowledge of AutoCAD 2000, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
Determine and prepare List of Materials.
Work on reverse engineering based on existing parts.
Make any adjustments or changes necessary.
Ink in line and letter on pencil drawings as required.
Draw charts for representation of statistical data.
Draw finished designs from sketches.
Act as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing.
Analyze design and drafting flow as to how it should progress through the department.
Check other drawings from other designers and drafters.
Document actions by completing all required time keeping records.
Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; (Or currently pursuing/enrolled)
Two to four years of related experience in an engineering environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
Ability to build positive relationships and to maintain cross-functional partnerships.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read, write, and understand the English language.
Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret complex contracts, legal documents, technical documents, engineering drawings, regulations, procedures and manuals.

Exerting/lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally and/or 15 lbs. frequently.
