The Product Assurance, Airworthiness and Certification (PAAC) department within the Product Integrity organization has a Lead Certification Engineer position which can be located in Redmond, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for showing compliance to FAA regulations by following Honeywell STC ODA Procedures to prepare data packages for aftermarket STCs for the installation of Honeywell products (ACARS, EGPWS, Weather Radar, TCAS, Data Recorders and COM/NAV equipment).

As a senior member of the engineering team, the candidate will be expected to provide guidance and mentoring to junior level Certification Engineers, provide guidance in the area of work estimates and project schedules, coordinating with the Aftermarket Program Manager (PM) and Product PM, and supporting technical and certification strategy discussions with customers and internal Honeywell stakeholders.

This position will report directly to the Sr. Technical Manager of Certification in Redmond. Up to 10% travel required for this role.

Bachelor s Degree
5 years of experience in avionics, field service or customer support
7 years working with FAA rules, orders and guidelines in the area of avionics products for aerospace applications
Previous or current FAA delegation as a DER (Designated Engineering Representative) or STC ODA Unit Member
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering
Technical leadership experience
Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, safety and data/voice recording avionics systems is an asset
Ability to manage to schedules and metrics
A proven ability for fostering excellent customer/certification agency relationships
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and productivity gains through use of collaborative team methods
Demonstrated communication skills with both internal and external customers as well Sr. Leadership
