Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Reliability Engineer or Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL

Although not required to start this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret clearance as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

T his requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below

The Engineer will be assigned work in the Logistics & Modernization organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis. Candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring and verifying subsystem R&M performance requirements for all design changes and new development efforts to ensure that R&M program requirements are achieved. The primary responsibility of the position will be reliability, maintainability, and testability.

E ssential Functions:
  • Perform R&M allocations and predictions
  • Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) analysis
  • Perform Built In Test (BIT) testability analysis
  • Develop mission reliability analysis
  • Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues
  • Familiarity with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Experience with Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
  • Experience with maintainability demonstrations
  • Experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
  • Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems
Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Reliability Engineer or Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Reliability Engineer level are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from an accredited institution and a Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience in OR Master's degree Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from an accredited institution and a Minimum 3 years of Engineering experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret of Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet business needs
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Reliability Engineer level are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from an accredited institution and a Minimum 9 years of Engineering experience in OR Master's degree Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from an accredited institution and a Minimum 7 years of Engineering experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret of Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in Reliability and Maintainability discipline
  • An active in-scope DOD Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred
